Long Pond in Belgrade , December 6th- MBDC's 16th (the 8th of 2009) and Maine's FIRST December Bass Tournament. Five or more inches of snow didn't stop Clayton Grimm and Matt Jannarone from driving to Belgrade from Lewiston. An unplowed launch and icy ramp didn't stop them from launching their already snow-encrusted boat. Thirty-six degree air temps and a 43 degree lake wasn't about to prevent them from plying the waters of Long Pond (a lake niether had ever fished) in search of big winter bass. Brisk NW winds, frozen reels, icy guides, inoperable sonars and even dead trolling motor batteries could not stop Team Grimm/Jannarowe from fishing the full 8 hours of the latest tournament in Maine bass angling history. This team definately gets the MBDC "Mr. December" award for 2009- I haven't witnessed a more motivated team of anglers in a very long time. Rutherford/Carroll 17.55 lbs, 4.75 Lunker LM.

Salmon Lake/McGrath Pond November 29th- The best weather or the week happened to occur on Sunday the 29th and three teams comprised of die-hard anglers took full advantage. Team Rutherford/Carroll's 20.40 lbs and 5.95 lb lunker largemouth were enough to take first place in the latest bass tournament Maine has ever witnessed. (Until 12/6/2009). Janosic/Hebert 5.30, Loring/Francis DNW.

East Pond November 22nd- Our great stretch of fall weather continued Sunday, six teams had East Pond's points, shoals and bass all to themselves..1st place: Rutherford/Carroll with 21.15 lbs of largemouth. Team Butler and Wilson used their 5.50 tournament lunker largemouth to anchor their 17.65 lb/second place finish; and Austin/Brown weighed in 17.40 lbs for third.

North Pond November 15th.-Another great day to fish- foggy and nearly 60 degrees in Central Maine! Five teams came out to compete and everyone weighed in a limit. Rutherford/Carroll brought 22.50 lbs of largemouth to the scale for first place. Gary LeRoy and Josh Mabee placed second with their 17.20 lb bag. Mark Desjardin/Dave Austin's 16.20 lbs was good enough for 3rd. Team Trask/Veilleux-15.30 and Davis/Holbrook-13.35 rounded out the field. Mike Carroll caught a 5.75 LM that turned out to be tournament lunker.

Great Moose Pond November 8th.- What a great day to spend out of doors! Seven boats shared this 3500+ acre lake on a warm and sunny day. Wilson Rutherford and his netboy, Mike Carroll took home first place with a bag weighing 23.80 lbs. Bob Deschane and Bruce Buckley brought 19.40 lbs of bass to the scales for second and team Mooney/Rivard took third place with 16.65 lbs. The tournament lunker was a largemouth of 4.95 lbs and expertly netted by Mike Carroll...

East Pond October 31st.- The last day of October was dark, moist and windy. Brian Mooney won the very competitive event with a 5 fish limit weighing 19-14. Gary LeRoy and Josh Mabee took home the second place award with 19-13 and Rutherford/Carroll weighed in 19-12 for third! Fitzgerald/LaLiberty weiged in the tournament lunker of 5.0 lbs.

Salmon Lake/McGrath Pond October 17th.- Salmon/McGrath has a reputation for producing large numbers of big bass and the fish brought to the scales at this event were no exception. Team Cooper and Cooper took first place with five fish weighing 24.00 lbs. (A mere .70 lbs from the MBDC record). Rutherford and Carroll came to the scales with 22.25 lbs and lunker of 6.2 lbs. Gary Leroy and Josh Mabee weighed 20.20 lbs for third place. Combined, these 15 fish weighed over 66 lbs!

Unity Pond October 3rd. -The team of Mooney and Mooney beat 10 other teams to take first place at MBDC's first fall tournament of the 2009 season with a 5 fish limit of 14.50 lbs.
